Diversity is extremely important in any field, and surely technology is no exception. Maintaining and encouraging equal gender representation enables companies to create products that take larger groups into consideration, that can predict a broader number of challenges and come up with a varied set of possible solutions.
There’s no doubt that the demand for STEM related jobs in the market is much larger than the current output and capacities that universities and tech colleges have. So why aren’t more women pursuing technology related positions at the same rate as men? What can we do to change this?
