Sergiu began his cyber security career in 1999 as IT security engineer within the Defence Intelligence, focusing on network security and cryptology, then gathering multi-disciplinary experience as Chief Information Security Officer with telco, banking and retail players.
As a member of Business Continuity Management and Crisis Management groups of excellence in Deutsche Telekom, Sergiu benefited from a know-how transfer from top global cyber resilience experts. He was leading the Security Center of Excellence of BearingPoint in Romania, delivering security services, including penetration testing, security assessments and cyber strategy advisory to European customers across several sectors. Sergiu has a master’s degree and a merit diploma in IT Security from the Military Technical Academy of Bucharest and started his PhD with the aim of improving application security review through machine learning algorithms and natural language processing.
Currently, he is acting as Cyber Security Officer for Huawei
Technologies, Romania, and received the Best Cyber Security Ecosystem Award
2020 for Huawei, from the Digital Transformation Council of Romania.
