Ubisoft Bucharest has been an important pillar for the local gaming industry since 1992, being the first Ubisoft production studio outside France. It has a strong history of contributing to iconic AAA franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, Watch Dogs and Just Dance, and has helped develop a total of over 60 games. Today, the studio is the 2nd largest Ubisoft studio worldwide and continues to tackle the biggest challenges in gaming and technology, contributing to the creation of new and amazing games.
Join us on the 31st of March on a introductory tour of game development to find out how we work, how we build our games, and how we have fun by doing this.
Ever want to make a game but don’t know where to start? You heard that you need a game engine but have no idea what that is? Want to learn more but you’re overwhelmed by information? Good news is that everything’s a game engine.
Gameplay programming is a broad field that involves a lot of different possibilities. Here we will showcase the differences between just writing code and being part of a GPP team inside a big project. We'll also sprinkle it with a bit of inside information about the challenges and fun that game programming has to offer.
We have an engine and a game – now what? We will end by taking a look at the features we build that allow our teams to take full control of our game and run it through pipelines that tell us its functionality status, gather development data and rediscover the worlds that we’re building.
Last, but not least, we will conclude with an open Q&A session where you will have the chance to ask us about Ubisoft, our technology, or anything else related to the presented topics.
See you there!
